2001 Year of the Snake
Gold Snakes Sell Out
The one-ounce Gold Snakes became the
third coin in Lunar Series to reach the 30,000-coin
production cap, which means they can be bought only in
the secondary market. The other two coins to sell out
were the Year 2000 one-ounce Gold Dragons and the Year
2002 one-ounce Gold Horse.
In addition to the year 2001, other Snake
years are 2013, 1989, 1977, 1965, 1953, 1941, 1929, 1917,
and 1905.
